Week 14 - Class #2.

In class:

Students examined their outlines to determine if they were strong enough and met all requirements of the paper.

Students then began working on a graphic organizer to firm up their arguments.

HW: FINISH THE GRAPHIC ORGANIZER.

Transition from Martyr to Scapegoat (Archetypal Character)

Today in class:

We reviewed the concept of sacrifice and discussed the term "martyr".

Students are applying some understanding of martyrdom in their reading of
"The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World," by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

FOR HW:

Students should carefully read and annotate the story, "The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World" on pg. 122.

Week 11 - Class 1

In class:

Journal:
Students looked at a photo of school children in a circle and responded to the following prompts:

1. Describe this scene: What is going on here? What do you observe?
2. What LOGICAL inferences can you make based on your observation?


Students then worked together to share and discuss these inferences and observations.

HW ( TWO PARTS! )


Go through annotations of Mysterious Stranger and come up with a list of all the inferences made –> underline them.
- Next to those inferences come up with a list of all the observations

AND 


Look up the following vocab  words --> quiz on the last day of class this week.
